History MA Internship
This internship has been created by the Lamport Hall Preservation Trust and the Buccleuch Living Heritage Trust to assist a student at the University of Leicester reading for one of the MA programmes offered by the Department of History both financially and to give them experience working in an historic house on a country estate.
The intern will be expected to enter fully into life at Lamport Hall and Boughton House. Two days per week will be expected during the winter, rising to three days after Easter. The Intern must be adaptable and willing to ‘pitch in’ and work at all levels.
The Intern will be provided with a large private bed-sitting room in Flat 3 at Lamport Hall but may have to share a kitchen and bathroom. This accommodation is free of rent and Council Tax and has free background heating. Electricity will have to be paid for and also a TV Licence, if required. The intern will need a car to get to the University in Leicester as Lamport is a rural location and public transport is limited. In addition to free accommodation for the year, a financial contribution will be made towards the Intern’s basic course fee.
For more information on the position, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Interested parties should send a C.V. with the names of at least two referees together with a covering letter of application outlining why they would like to apply for the internship and how they feel they would benefit to email@example.com, copying in Dr Elizabeth Hurren (firstname.lastname@example.org). The internship will only be offered to a candidate who has secured a place on the relevant Masters course with the Department of History at the University of Leicester.
Deadline: 22nd June 2018
