Willow Weaving Bird Sculptures
10am – 4pm, 7th November 2018
Lamport Masterclasses presents Willow Weaving with Sue Kirk, a workshop with practical instruction.
Sue uses Black Maul willow grown by Steven Pearce and P.H.Coates who are both based in Somerset. In some classes Sue also uses her own willows grown in King’s Cliffe. Tools will be provided on the day, but it is helpful if you bring along a sharp pen knife, cushion to kneel on, string and secateurs.
Choose from an Egret, Heron, Sandpiper or Goose. Each bird sculpture has a 6mm or 8mm metal frame which is secured into a log stand. You will be taught how to weave over the framework and how to add texture and detail to your work using a variety of coloured willows.
Class includes materials. This workshop is suitable for beginners, intermediates and advanced students. Suitable for children aged 12 and above.
Bring your own lunch.
